I’ve never seen a grown man cry like that before.

I cracked, I was balling and there was snot running out my nose.

It had been years since I had released such an intense amount of emotion.

Since I was a young boy.

Many men hold onto their emotions until they crack under the pressure.

That is what I learned as a young boy.

My standard operating identity or comfort zone was…

COOL, CALM, COLLECTED

Thinking, “Don’t let anyone see you sweat let alone cry like a baby.”

Expressing emotions is a sign of weakness.

RIGHT?

When men are vulnerable others will take advantage of the weakness.

AGREE?

Hold it all together or others will see you as a fraud.

I was hurting…

Pretending everything was “FINE.”

Men are hurting….

I AM FINE…

I AM GOOD…

The go to answer when the truth IS something else.

The irony for me is I WAS THE FRAUD because I didn’t have the courage to share what I was experiencing. Dumbing down my emotions to withhold how ecstatic I was. Full of Joy. Or pretending I was not angry or sad.

The snot was running out of my nose and I couldn’t catch my breath. I was crying so hard and cracking under pressure.

I love the man who cracked me wide open.

He was my coach.

Coach Cullen

He is now a friend, my brother.

Another man commented, “I’VE NEVER SEEN A GROWN MAN CRY LIKE THAT BEFORE.”

The experience was cathartic for all.

I needed permission to crack, I wanted permission to crack wide open. Liberate myself from the cage that was holding me back from full expression.

From that day forward things are different for me. Expressing my emotions is much easier. Laughter, being silly, anger, joy, frustration, love.

A client said this today in our coaching meeting.

“I don’t need to be perfect, I need to be…”

Being perfect is a burden and a weight. It’s heavy, limiting, constrictive, destructive.

The event I experienced was a breakthrough for me, it was liberating.

An initiation.

I want to help other men become liberated too.

That’s part of what Realm.Men is all about. Offer men the permission to break free from having and wanting to:

HOLD IT ALL TOGETHER ALL THE TIME.

Provide a safe, reverent and sacred environment and community for men to grow and expand.

How can we help you?

I will show you the process that cracked me open.

Check us out.
